About The Position

The Process Engineer III will take on technical ownership of the production process, overseeing complete process control to ensure maximum uptime, efficiency, and quality. The engineer will mentor other process engineers and lead efforts in new product development and production integration. This role demands ingenuity, flexibility, and problem-solving skills using RCCA, Lean Six Sigma, or similar tools. The primary objective is to maintain and improve production processes, recommending and executing upgrades to process control and taking leadership in production/equipment enhancements. Experience in continuous reinforced composite materials is essential.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in material science, engineering, chemical, mechanical, or related field.
  • More than seven years of experience in composite materials or aerospace manufacturing.
  • In-depth understanding of statistical analysis, process control, project management, RCCA, and FMEA.
  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt training (certification preferred).
  • Strong knowledge of Root Cause, PFMEA, Statistics, and SQC/SPC.
  • Proficiency with business ERP systems (e.g., Microsoft Dynamics D365).
  • Clear communication skills in English.
  • Ability to work with interdisciplinary teams and leadership.
  • Maintain neat, orderly, and safe work areas; follow PPE safety procedures.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with mentorship, training, or supervision preferred.
  • Previous experience with composite part manufacturing or composite impregnation processes.
  • Experience with thermoset/thermoplastic resin systems with carbon and/or glass tape/fabrics.

Responsibilities

  • Execute all process engineering activities across a range of processes, including manufacturing, process control/optimization, and scrap reduction.
  • Recognize, implement, and troubleshoot tools providing root cause and corrective actions in impregnation or batch mixing processes.
  • Lead and support in establishing and measuring process performance standards related to quality, waste, and throughput.
  • Contribute to operational reviews and efforts for safety, process improvements, and cost reduction.
  • Support investigations and execute RCCA in operational non-conformances and customer-related issues.
  • Plan, lead, and execute capital projects and process improvement activities.
  • Participate in customer site audits/qualifications and visits.
  • Define and document product and processing parameters, capability, and cost reductions.
  • Evaluate, troubleshoot, and solve quality processes, safety, and process-led improvements.
  • Document and create manufacturing processes and methods per AS9100 quality system.
  • Create and provide training for manufacturing configurations and control plans.
  • Collaborate with various departments to achieve company objectives.
  • Support multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Assist with safety and environmental issues in manufacturing processes.
  • Perform other duties as assigned and be available for off-hour work when needed.
