Future Propulsion Plant (FPP) Program Office, D370 The Program Manager for future propulsion plant process and digital tool development will lead the adoption of the processes and tools needed to ensure efficient, high-quality execution of new propulsion plant designs including the VIRGINIA Block VIII improved performance machinery program (IPMP) and SSN(X). This position will report to Future Propulsion Plant (FPP) Senior Program Manager. The Program Manager will ensure FPP tool and process efforts incorporate lessons learned, identify areas for innovation and maintain alignment with other design programs at Electric Boat. They will engage with stakeholders throughout the end-to-end process to ensure all requirements for each phase are met and overall cost and schedule performance is optimized. The primary responsibilities for this role will involve: Establishing and driving implementation of a vision for future-state capabilities that improves overall program execution Leading FPP program efforts to revitalize the EB design build approach first pioneered during the initial VIRGINIA design program Working closely with other Program Offices and the Digital Enterprise organization to ensure that digital initiatives are scoped correctly and executed in time to support program schedules Integrating stakeholder organizations to ensure that program designs can be efficiently consumed by all downstream activities including material procurement, advance planning, detail planning, manufacturing, assembly, test, certification, delivery and sustainment Coordinating closely with Newport News Shipbuilding (NNS) for both IPMP and SSN(X) to address the process and digital tool needs of Electric Boat and NNS for all phases Representing FPP programs’ digital and process efforts to Naval Reactors (NR) and the Naval Nuclear Laboratory (NNL) Currently identified digital initiatives’ scope includes NX Teamcenter, EB internal business systems and databases. This program manager will work closely with the Electric Boat Digital and Information Technologies personnel (D405 & D604) who are responsible for development and implementation of the capabilities to effectively execute the future propulsion plant design programs. Additionally, this role will include supporting any process or digital initiatives being executed as part of the Advanced Technology Innovation Pipeline (ATIP) in collaboration with NNL. There will also be work on the SSN AUKUS program assisting the UK with digital initiatives under the 1958 Mutual Defense Agreement treaty. The role will require working closely with internal program offices – VA design, CONFORM, COLUMBIA, as well as external program partners including NNS, NNL, NR, PMSs 351 and 450. This manager is expected to hire and develop a multi-disciplinary team to execute all of the above.
