About The Position

Tredegar is an industrial manufacturer with two primary businesses: custom aluminum extrusions for the North American building & construction, automotive and specialty end-use markets and surface protection films for high technology applications in the global electronics industry. With approximately 1,500 employees, Tredegar operates manufacturing facilities in North America and Asia. Tredegar Surface Protection has an exciting opportunity for a Process Coordinator to join our Team! The Process Coordinator has extensive knowledge of the Surface Protection and Cast Production processes or a technical background with the ability to demonstrate an in-depth knowledge of the process. The individual will facilitate all process and training aspects of properly and safely running a Surface Protection/Cast production line in addition to coordinating training and feedback for the activities of Surface Protection operators (which may be rotating). The position will work with the Operations Manager, Production Manager, Process Engineers, Production Supervisors, Extrusion Product Technicians and Maintenance to control and address process issues and conditions that may lead to poor quality or failure to operate under good manufacturing practices. This position will interface with a primary shift and all shifts as needed regarding improvement of process procedures and instructions, employee engagement, training, and overall morale.

Requirements

High School Diploma and 4 years Surface Protection or similar Technical Experience/Background.

Nice To Haves

College degree and 4 years Surface Protection Technician experience and supervisory experience.
An equivalent combination of education, experience and training will be considered.

Responsibilities

Provides technical expertise training, and leadership for the activities of the Surface Protection/Cast department.
Oversees and coordinates training of Extrusion Product Technicians assigned to Surface Protection/Cast in equipment operations, safety, policies, and procedures.
Support Production in all aspects of the job including troubleshooting.
Conduct daily audits/walks of production lines for the purpose of auditing the department for process/quality compliance. Work with department employees to address any non-compliance issues.
Work closely with the Process Engineer to address immediate needs, projects, data collection, trials and other tasks required.
Provide supervision for department as needed in conjunction with, or in the absence of, the Production Shift Supervisor.
Review current schedule and all necessary production needs.
Reviews and updates production related policies and procedures.
Interface and coordinate with other department Process Coordinators to ensure operational consistency across shifts.
Will perform other duties as required to promote overall plant effectiveness and customer satisfaction.
Active team member on the Tredegar First Class Continuous Skills Development Team.
