POSITION SUMMARY: The Process Controls Analyst provides DCS, SCADA, PLC, and HMI automation technical support for the G&P Southwest Region Oil & Gas Gathering, Natural Gas Processing and NGL Fractionation plants. The individual is responsible for programming and maintaining control logic, HMI, alarms, and all levels of control engineering applications. The role supports troubleshooting and improvement requests from Operations and interfaces with Engineering, Instrumentation, Measurement, Environmental, and Process Safety teams to improve control system reliability and build and optimize plant assets. This position belongs to a family of jobs with increasing responsibility, competency, and skill level. The actual position title and pay grade will be based on the selected candidate’s experience and qualifications.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree or vocational qualifications in related field required.
  • Seven (7) years of related experience required.
  • Valid Driver's License Required.

Responsibilities

  • Develops skills to program, support, and troubleshoot control logic, human machine interface (HMI) displays and supporting technology (networks, remote communications/protocols and metering) to meet operational, economic, and regulatory objectives.
  • Understands cause and effects (C&E) and controls narrative documentation and utilizes this documentation to assist with factory acceptance tests (FAT) and site acceptance tests (SAT).
  • Troubleshoots basic alarms with other operational teams and assists in their resolution.
  • Understands local operational processes and piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs) and assists troubleshooting issues.
  • Performs maintenance Controls projects and day-to-day support; receives direction from others and seeks out mentoring contacts throughout the organization.
  • Understands MPLX standards/guidelines as well as industry standards/guidelines.
  • Understands core concepts and participates in safety-related processes and programs such as process hazards analysis (PHA) and management of change (MOC).
