POSITION SUMMARY: The El Paso Refinery has an opening for a Process Controls Specialist. This position will report directly to the Process Control Manager.

Requirements

  • Associate's Degree in Electrical or Instrument Technology or High School Diploma or GED with five (5) years relevant experience required. (Education must be obtained/completed prior to start date)
  • Two (2) years or more of experience with industrial control systems required.
  • A valid Driver's License is required.

Nice To Haves

  • Proficiency in Honeywell Experion, and TDC3000.
  • Previous Refining Process Controls experience.

Responsibilities

  • Designs, implements, and maintains process control strategies to optimize unit performance and reliability.
  • Troubleshoots and resolves control system issues, including hardware, software, and network components.
  • Collaborates with operations, engineering and maintenance teams to resolve operational challenges.
  • Develops and maintains relationships with console operators.
  • Maintains and optimizes Honeywell Experion PKS and TDC 3000 DCS platforms, including configuration, troubleshooting, and system upgrades to support safe and efficient refinery operations.
  • Maintain and support Triconex SIS and Rockwell Automation PLCs, including logic modifications, and testing.
  • Develops and maintains control narratives, logic diagrams, and system documentation.
  • Manages controls-related projects, including scope development, vendor coordination, and commissioning.
  • Develop, modify, and maintain operator graphics and HMIs for DCS, SIS, PLC, and SCADA systems in accordance with refinery standards
  • Maintain and troubleshoot industrial networks.
  • Provides on-call and outage/turnaround support for control systems.
