About The Position

The Process Control Engineer provides process control engineering support for plant operations and strategic initiatives, including process optimization, raw material and energy efficiency improvements, asset utilization, environmental performance tracking, and capital project execution. Key responsibilities include: Maintain, configure, and troubleshoot Distributed Control Systems (DCS), Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), and other plant control systems. Maintain and enhance data acquisition systems, including plant efficiency calculations, energy monitoring, asset utilization tracking, and environmental performance reporting. Develop, implement, and manage control programs to ensure environmental, operational, and regulatory compliance. Provide engineering support for the sizing, specification, installation, and maintenance of field instrumentation (flow, temperature, pressure, level transmitters, control valves, etc.). Design and implement automation strategies and advanced control schemes to optimize plant performance. Manage capital and improvement projects, including scope development, technical submittals, procurement, installation oversight, and commissioning. Support Process Safety Management (PSM) programs, including mechanical integrity, procedures, process safety information (PSI), P&IDs, and participation in Process Hazard Analyses (PHA). Provide oversight for cybersecurity and Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS) to ensure system reliability and compliance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related discipline.
  • 5–10 years of relevant process control or industrial automation experience.
  • Strong knowledge of control systems, instrumentation, and plant automation.
  • Demonstrated project management capability.
  • Experience with cybersecurity principles and Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Compensation: We offer competitive compensation packages, inclusive of a global bonus program. In accordance with Washington state pay transparency requirements, the pay range for this role is Min: $107,800 - Mid: $143,700 - Max: $179,600. Where an individual falls within this range will depend on the hiring budget, internal equity, and the candidate’s skills, experience, and qualifications.
