How You’ll Help Us Connect the World As a Process Automation Intern, you will be responsible for process development of fiber optic connector manufacturing as part of the Datacenter business unit. You will work closely with the Advanced Manufacturing Team to qualify new automation equipment and develop improvements to the fiber optic connector termination process. This role will be based in Shakopee, MN.

  • Creating and executing test plans for new equipment to evaluate capability and reliability of the machines using statistical methods
  • Brainstorming process improvements and collaborating with the mechanical design team to implement them
  • Documenting standard work instructions for operations
  • Actively pursuing a bachelor’s (upcoming sophomores, juniors & seniors) or master’s degree in the following Mechanical or Industrial Engineering from an accredited university
  • Proven strong academic performer with a minimum GPA of 3.0
  • Must possess unrestricted work authorization and not require future sponsorship
  • Military-Affiliated candidates encouraged to apply (Veterans, Military Spouses, and Guard/Reservists)
  • Completed Six Sigma Green Belt Certification
  • Experience with Minitab software
  • Demonstrate strong leadership, interpersonal and communication skills
  • Show innovation through unique ideas and propose them to the team
  • Able to handle multiple assignments simultaneously and effectively meet deadlines
  • Strategic and creative thinking; distinguished written and verbal communications skills
  • Strong initiative; a self-starter with analytical skills, attention to detail, problem-solving and decision-making abilities
  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment and flexible to changing priorities
