About The Position

Edgewater Technical Associates is seeking qualified candidates for a Procedures Technical Editor/ Writer opportunity to support Hanford Mission Integration Solutions (HMIS) in Richland, WA. This position will provide support to the Hanford Mission Integration Solutions (HMIS) Procedures organization, which shall encompass all aspects of procedure development, including but not limited to assisting in the development of new procedures, conducting editorial, minor, and revision changes, performing procedure cancellation processes, and assisting in periodic reviews. The Procedure System (PS) shall be used to initiate, modify, update, review, approve, and publish procedures. Documents include Charters, Guidance Documents, Management Directives, Management Plans, Policies, Procedures (including administrative, technical, and emergency response), Requirements Documents, and Standards.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of five (5) years technical writing & editing experience (or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience).
  • Working knowledge of basic computer skills and software including Microsoft Office, Azure, Word, Outlook, Teams, Adobe Acrobat Pro, Access, and/or Visio.
  • Technical editing background with companywide/requirements/contract implementation level 1 procedures.
  • Current PPA certification or ability to obtain within 2 months of hire.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Strong organizational skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's Degree in a related discipline.
  • Prior Experience with IDMS, Access, and/or Visio.
  • Ability to utilize manufacturer instructions/manuals to generate new PMs for engineer review.
  • Experience working with mobile devices such as laptops and/or computer peripherals.
  • Experience working in a virtual telework environment.
  • Prior Hanford site experience.

Responsibilities
