Main Function: · Promptly and professionally answers telephone calls. · Greets patients and other visitors to the office. · Collaborates with multi-disciplinary departments throughout Griffin Faculty Physicians and Griffin Hospital. o Coordinates surgical appointment with patient and Griffin Hospital’s operating room and/or GI suite or Childbirth Center. Completes OR booking forms at the direction of the Surgeon o Provides Griffin Hospital Pre-admission testing with medical clearance and informed consent o Organize surgical assists within Specialty and/or coordinate cross-Specialty Physician surgical collaborations · Coordinates surgical patient medical clearance appointments with PCP as required at the Physicians’ discretion · Schedules pre-operative and post-operative patient appointments as needed · Contacts insurance carriers to obtain prior authorizations as needed. · Manages provider’s office schedule to reflect time out of office for surgical procedures. · Provides general clerical support for the office and assist the practice manager as needed. · Additional responsibilities as assigned. Education: · High school diploma or GED Job Requirements: · Minimum of three years administrative experience in a medical office. · Experience with surgical booking and medical billing required. · Working knowledge of medical terminology. · Experience working with electronic health records required. · Must possess strong customer service skills and must be able to multi-task.
