About The Position

The Pro Shop Cashier performs tasks associated with the day-to-day operations of the Pro Shop at the Lake of the Woods Golf Course. This is a part-time seasonal position; hours will vary including weekends and holidays. Several positions may be available beginning in March and continuing through November. The primary work location is the Lake of the Woods Golf Course in Mahomet.

Requirements

Excellent customer service skills
Must be able to communicate effectively in a professional and courteous manner with golf course patrons, as well as co-workers and other District employees
Must possess good math skills to properly handle monetary transactions
Ability to work with minimal supervision
Proficient with basic computer applications
Must possess good problem-solving ability and good judgment
Must be at least 21 years of age
Must be available to work evenings, weekends and holidays

Nice To Haves

Previous experience or knowledge of golf and/or golf course operations
CPR and/or First Aid certification

Responsibilities

Greet and register arriving golfers in a professional and courteous manner.
Check in golfers, collect fees, and ensure accuracy and completeness of all transaction records.
Answer phones, provide information on current golf rates and current promotions, and make and confirm reservations for tee times.
Promote merchandise sales and assist customers in selecting merchandise for purchase.
Assist with the creation of sales displays and maintaining accurate inventory of merchandise.
Maintain cleanliness of Pro Shop, including public customer areas as well as behind the counter and stockroom area.
Assist with cleaning and closing of the driving range and clubhouse.
Enforce District rules of conduct and inform appropriate authority if patrons or employees are endangered.
Provide general information to golf course patrons regarding District facilities and services.
