The Department of Psychology at Shepherd Center in Atlanta, Georgia is pleased to announce that it is recruiting a Psychometrist to join an established and expanding department that has several neuropsychologists, rehabilitation counselors, and psychometrists. Shepherd Center seeks candidates who are compassionate and caring for patients and their families/caregivers. Other characteristics we look for include flexibility, self-motivation and direction, ability to learn and apply knowledge quickly; proficiency in organizing and completing multiple tasks and projects in a timely manner; effective and appropriate communication skills in all interactions; and consistent demonstration of proficiency in area of expertise.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Psychology, Rehabilitation Counseling, Counseling Psychology or related field preferred. Must have education and training in administration and scoring of neuropsychological and psychological tests.
  • Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification required.
  • Experience in testing individuals with neurological disorders and other medical conditions are preferred.
  • Must be able to administer a full range of neuropsychological and psychological tests, including fixed battery procedures, intellectual and academic, assessment instruments, and personally assessment inventories and measures.

Responsibilities

  • The Psychometrist administers and scores neuropsychological tests with patients at Shepherd Center
  • Responsible for administering & scoring neuropsychological and/or psychological tests to in patients with acute brain injuries and spinal cord injuries, as well as outpatients, under the supervision of a neuropsychologist.
  • Responsible for demographic & neuropsychological data entry into REDCap database for clinical research purposes.
  • Provides behavioral observations of patients & maintains interface with neuropsychologists- Responsible for maintenance of accurate records, confidentiality of test results, and the security of testing materials.
  • Assists with training of other psychometrists, fellows, and students as requested by supervisor- Participates in department committees and/or research projects as requested by supervisor.
