About The Position

Psychometrist performs psychological test batteries and scores tests. Psychometrist assists Neuro-Psychologist evaluate cognitive, academic and behavioral status. This position also assists with clinic visits and other clinical aspects of the department. Department: Medical Practices Hours: Full-time/40 hours per week Required: Bachelor's Degree; BLS or CPR within 90 days of hire Pay: Based on experience, starting at $18.68 per hour

Responsibilities

  • Administer psychological tests as defined in competencies for a Psychometrist.
  • Attend training conferences offered by the department as well as by outside organizations.
  • Comply with Infection Control and Health and Safety policies and procedures.
  • Demonstrates working knowledge of neurology and electroencephalogy
  • Explains testing procedures to patient and family.
  • Keeps equipment clean and in proper working order. Makes appropriate adjustments to settings, etc. to obtain accurate results.

  • Participate in establishing job requirements and goals; perform duties at the desired level of competency.
  • Prepares patients for requested examinations and performs testing.
  • Produces accurate and complete reports with emphasis on clinical observations.

  • Provide a written summary of the patient's behavior during testing, including interactions with the patient's parents or peers that may be observed incidentally.
  • Responds appropriately to patient emergencies.
  • Review and ensure timeliness, accuracy, and availability and security of information.
  • Score tests administered, including objective personality tests administered by Psychometrist.
  • Understands the effects that medications can have on testing..

  • Write progress notes in the medical record to keep hospital personnel informed of the status of referrals.
