About The Position

The Clinical Professional Development Educator enhances professional practice and the provision of quality patient care by providing evidence-based quality educational programs and activities that promote professional aptitude for nursing, inter-professional, and non-licensed clinical staff at the assigned facility. Overland Park Regional Medical Center is a 340+ bed facility offering acute medical services to our patients. We are Johnson County's only Pediatric Intensive Care Unit and Level II Trauma Center. We have an Accredited Stroke and Chest Pain Center. Our hospital is a premier area destination for Womens & Children's healthcare services. We offer the region's only Maternal Fetal Health Center to care for critically ill mothers and their babies. Our hospital has an antepartum unit, a labor and delivery unit, and a Level III NICU. We have four emergency rooms, including a dedicated Pediatric emergency room and two freestanding ERs located in Olathe and Shawnee. Each year our colleagues treat over 45,000 patients. Requirements

Bachelor's degree preferred.
Active RN in the state of practice. Certification in area of specialty required within 6 months of hire.
Minimum experience in NICU, OB/GYN, pediatrics, or women's health care.

Nice To Haves

Experience with group dynamics, public speaking and/or public relations preferred.
Experience working with IT, audiovisual and digital media preferred.

Responsibilities

Participates in the development, coordination, managing, facilitating, conducting, and evaluating of onboarding and orientation programs for nursing and other healthcare personnel
Conducts orientation in a manner that facilitates a positive learning environment. Incorporates organizational values/culture into the orientation process
Identifies learning needs of staff and assesses practice gaps, comparing competencies to actual practice. Plans educational content with learner engagement
Partners with the Clinical Education Market Director to review outcomes data to evaluate and refine aptitude management activities
Demonstrates an expertise of adult educational theory and the ability to apply evaluation methodologies, (i.e., Kirkpatrick) into courses and curriculum to refine clinical programs
