About The Position

Provides safe efficient age specific dialysis to patients with supporting technical duties. Patient population consists of: highly acute patients, pediatric patients and intensive care unit patients. What You Will Do Patient documentation Direct patient care/order review in the dialysis process Assistance with water treatment, dialysis machine use and other patient care equipment Patient support and education Actively participates in the quality improvement process Involved in learning and self-improvement Additional Responsibilities Performs other duties as assigned. Complies with all policies and standards. For specific duties and responsibilities, refer to documentation provided by the department during orientation. Must abide by all requirements to safely and securely maintain Protected Health Information (PHI) for our patients. Annual training, the UH Code of Conduct and UH policies and procedures are in place to address appropriate use of PHI in the workplace.

Requirements

  • High School Equivalent / GED (Required)
  • 1+ years of dialysis experience. (Required)
  • Dialysis Tech Intern (DTI) experience will be taken into consideration for the purpose of determining the one year requirement. (Required)
  • Uses a wide variety of technical equipment to meet patient needs and prescribed medical therapies (i.e. stethoscopes, thermometers, sphygmomanometers and dialysis machines). (Required proficiency)
  • Excellent interpersonal skills. (Required proficiency)
  • Basic math skills. (Required proficiency)
  • Certified Dialysis Technician (OCDT) (Required)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) (Required)
