The Brunswick Family Health Center Emergency Department features board-certified, emergency medicine physicians available around-the-clock to provide comprehensive care to adults and children. Depending on the type of visit, there are specific areas designed to take care of individual needs efficiently and compassionately. Backed by the full resources of Cleveland Clinic, the Emergency Department provides advanced care to the Brunswick community. As RN in the Emergency Department (ED), you will help patients feel comfortable, at ease and supported while receiving treatment. This position requires a caregiver who is empathetic, understanding and nurturing to ensure quality patient care and effective life-saving treatment. On this team, you will have numerous opportunities to explore educational development courses and advance the Professional Ladder at Cleveland Clinic. A caregiver in this position works PRN (as needed) variable shifts.

Requirements

• Graduate from an accredited School of Professional Nursing (ADN or BSN program)
• Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
• Basic Life Support (BLS)certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) OR the American Red Cross
• External candidates: two years of recent related nursing experience
• Internal candidates with less than two years of experience, but are post-orientation/90-day probationary period, may be considered with CNO level review and approval
• Licensed military RN experience will be considered
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or the American Red Cross (required within one year of employment)
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or the American Red Cross (required within one year of employment)
• Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC - adult) or Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course (ENPC - pediatric) upon hire or within 24 months of beginning work in the Emergency Department.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care.
• Implement, monitor, evaluate, update, and revise patient care plans.
• Monitor, record, document and communicate patients’ conditions.
• Administer prescribed medications and treatments.
• Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
• Assess and coordinate patients’ discharge needs.
