About The Position

This PRN Endo Tech position involves preparing equipment and supplies for endoscopy procedures, including setting up instruments and preparing procedure rooms. The role requires assisting physicians with Endoscopy procedures, obtaining, labeling, and delivering biopsies or labs with the RN or MD. Key responsibilities also include maintaining, ordering, and stocking supplies for Endoscopy, ensuring specialized equipment and instruments are maintained, coordinating a regular maintenance program, and troubleshooting minor equipment problems. The tech will also notify clinical engineering for repairs when necessary. Administrative duties include answering telephones, answering questions concerning procedures, and relaying messages in a timely, courteous, and professional manner. There is a possibility of wasting medications per appropriate guidelines and processes, and performing IV insertions if the Tech has successfully completed an IV insertion course.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
