About The Position

Acclaim Physician Group, Inc. (Acclaim) is a multi-specialty medical group of over 500 providers partnering with JPS Health Network (JPS), a county health network and Level-1 Trauma Center serving Tarrant County for over 100 years. JPS is also an urban teaching hospital with 18 residency and fellowship programs. The Department of Internal Medicine, which provides specialty services across JPS's continuum of care, is seeking a PRN Critical Care Physician for its ICU team. This role involves working as an intensivist in the Medical Intensive Care Unit, with responsibilities including patient rounding, procedures, and critical patient response/resuscitation. The position includes limited nights on a rotating schedule and involves supervision and teaching of residents and medical students. The physician will administer and interpret all aspects of patient care, including diagnosis, treatments, and consultations in inpatient and/or outpatient settings, educate patients, conduct physicals, and order tests.

Requirements

  • Current Medical Doctor (M.D.) or Doctor of Osteopathy (D.O.) degree from an accredited school of medicine.
  • Residency and/or Fellowship training within Critical Care Medicine.
  • Current, unrestricted medical license to practice in the State of Texas.
  • Board Certification or Board Eligible in Critical Care Medicine.
  • Must be comfortable working independently and in multi-disciplinary teams within a large public/county facility treating high acuity patients with complex medical diagnoses.
  • Must be able to demonstrate a high-level working knowledge in the area assigned, and competency in assessment techniques, diagnosis and treatment processes that apply to the assigned medical specialty area.
  • Must have good interpersonal, verbal, and oral communication skills.
  • Must be self-directed and take initiative to develop and participate in community activities and medical outreach.
  • Must be able to demonstrate patient centered/patient valued behavior such as end-of-life decisions, advance directives, estimating prognosis, and counseling of patients and their families.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates the multidisciplinary care delivered to all patients, to optimize patient care.
  • Reviews patient medical charts to diagnose, treat, and provide care management and education to patients and families.
  • Makes appropriate patient referrals as necessary.
  • Monitors guidelines for the management of care and for ensuring the services are delivered in compliance with the guidelines established by JPS Health Network and Acclaim Physician Group.
  • Provides evidence-based and compassionate care to all patients as assigned to improve patient outcomes and increase patient satisfaction scores.
  • Demonstrates patient centered and patient valued behavior.
  • Maintains a collaborative environment with other referring physicians, residents, clinical staff, and support staff to provide quality patient care.
  • Supports academic, educational and research endeavors.
  • Attends Performance Improvement Programs and Peer Review committee meetings; and is an active participant in the process.
  • Partners and communicates with acumen to build a positive brand and patient/customer experience for those who encounter JPS Health Network and Acclaim Physician Group.
  • Serves as a resource to the community.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
