We are seeking a PRN Cook to join our dedicated Kitchen team and contribute to the well‑being of those we serve through quality meals and nutritional support Why Rolling Hills? Rolling Hills Hospital provides behavioral health services for Adolescents, Adults, Adults with dual diagnoses, and Older Adults/Geriatrics. As a Cook, you will play a vital role in supporting our clinical mission by preparing meals that meet nutritional guidelines and support patient recovery.

Requirements

  • Education/Training: High School Diploma or GED
  • Licensure/Certification: Current Tennessee Driver’s License
  • Experience: Previous experience working in a food service industry, preferably in a hospital or other institutional setting. In the absence of above qualifications/experience, must demonstrate the ability to learn necessary skills through the facility orientation program.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret information, including physician orders
  • Strong communication skills with patients, families, physicians, clinicians, and team members
  • Basic mathematical skills
  • Ability to handle practical problem‑solving in situations with limited standardization
  • Ability to remain calm and in control during high‑stress situations
  • Physical ability to meet job demands, including standing for long periods and lifting as needed
  • Leadership skills and confidence in emergency situations

Responsibilities

  • The PRN Cook participates in the delivery of high‑quality meals and nutritional services to patients, staff, and guests.
  • Preparing and serving meals according to dietary guidelines and facility standards
  • Maintaining a clean, safe, and organized kitchen environment
  • Following recipes and portion guidelines accurately
  • Collaborating with dietary team members and supporting kitchen operations
  • Communicating effectively with staff across departments
