POSITION OVERVIEW The Private Events Sales Manager is responsible for driving private events revenue through the sale, contracting, and detailed planning of social and corporate events at The Quin. This role owns the member and client relationship from initial inquiry through final event specifications, ensuring every detail is thoughtfully curated and seamlessly transitioned to operations for execution. This position is both commercially driven and service-oriented, requiring strong sales acumen, refined taste, and the ability to translate a client’s vision into a clearly articulated event plan that upholds The Quin’s standards of excellence.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of private events or catering sales experience in a private club, luxury hotel, or high-end hospitality environment.
  • Demonstrated success in consultative selling, contract negotiation, and event detailing.
  • Strong financial acumen with the ability to price events profitably and manage revenue performance.
  • Exceptional communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing multiple events simultaneously.
  • Service-driven mindset with an elevated aesthetic and a commitment to excellence.
  • Comfortable using Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Open availability, including evenings and weekends, based on business needs.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the sale of all private events, including meetings and celebrations, with accountability for achieving annual private events revenue goals.
  • Proactively cultivate a strong pipeline of private events business through member engagement, referrals, and strategic outreach.
  • Conduct member and prospective client meetings, tours, and presentations that effectively position The Quin’s spaces, offerings, and service philosophy.
  • Convert inquiries into contracted events through consultative selling, thoughtful proposal development, and confident negotiation.
  • Maximize event revenue through strategic pricing, menu guidance, and value-added enhancements aligned with member expectations.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients throughout the planning process, ensuring a highly personalized and attentive experience.
  • Partner with clients to define event objectives, design, flow, menus, and logistics, translating their vision into clear and comprehensive event specifications.
  • Collaborate closely with Culinary and Food & Beverage leadership to curate profitable menus that reflect both client preferences and The Quin’s culinary standards.
  • Prepare, finalize, and distribute Banquet Event Orders (BEOs) and all related documentation to ensure clarity and alignment across internal teams.
  • Manage all pre-event communication, approvals, and changes to ensure accuracy and readiness prior to execution.
  • Act as the client advocate internally, ensuring all contracted details and expectations are clearly communicated to Event Operations and F&B teams.
  • Participate in pre-event briefings as needed to confirm alignment and readiness.
  • Address client feedback or concerns related to contracted expectations with discretion and professionalism, partnering with leadership when appropriate.
  • Foster repeat business through thoughtful follow-up, relationship management, and consistent delivery of exceptional service.
  • Prepare and present weekly and monthly private events sales reports, including pipeline activity, confirmed revenue, and forecasting.
  • Review final event billing for accuracy in collaboration with Finance and F&B leadership.
  • Utilize client feedback and satisfaction surveys to identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
