As a Private Business Strategist within PNC's Private Bank organization, you may be based in Dallas, Austin or Houston, TX. Requirements

  • Demonstrated ability to engage business owners in discussions about their business goals and translate those conversations into insights regarding business growth and the corresponding impact on the owner’s personal wealth.
  • Ability to integrate transition-planning strategies into both personal and corporate planning, including: Evaluation of transition methods (e.g., retain vs. sell). Preservation of capital through effective estate-planning techniques. Explanation of how various transition strategies affect a company’s capital structure and the owners’ tax positions (e.g., redemptions, dividend recapitalizations, equity grants).
  • Experience navigating behavioral and family dynamics with business owners (e.g., addressing “fair vs. equal” considerations).
  • Working knowledge of corporate structures, owner cash‑flow considerations, and the estate‑tax landscape.
  • Customer Focused - Knowledgeable of the values and practices that align customer needs and satisfaction as primary considerations in all business decisions and able to leverage that information in creating customized customer solutions.
  • Managing Risk - Assessing and effectively managing all of the risks associated with their business objectives and activities to ensure they adhere to and support PNC's Enterprise Risk Management Framework.
  • Successful candidates must demonstrate appropriate knowledge, skills, and abilities for a role.
  • Roles at this level typically require a university / college degree.
  • Industry relevant experience is typically 8+ years.
  • Specific certifications are often required.
  • In lieu of a degree, a comparable combination of education, job specific certification(s), and experience (including military service) may be considered.

  • Background as a credit analyst.
  • Corporate and/or personal tax experience in public accounting.
  • Combined Trust & Estate and Corporate Tax experience as an attorney or CPA.

Responsibilities

  • Participates in consultations with clients and prospects on PNC's ability to assist them across the full range of succession planning solutions.
  • Partners internally with the Asset Management Group and C&IB.
  • Engages in strategic discussions with clients and/or prospects to maintain and/or strengthen our relationships and to provide industry insights that are beneficial to both the individual and the company.
  • Assesses the scope and resources required for various modular tax, estate and financial plans and manages the resources for efficiency.
  • Identifies, researches, and evaluates the market.
  • Regularly engages with relationship managers, Corporate Banking leadership team, and the transactional teams to ensure open and continued communication regarding the alignment of strategic alternatives offered by PNC.
  • Conducts and reviews research as appropriate, and develops tax, estate and financial analyses and plans.
  • Makes generally accepted recommendations to team and may make recommendations to clients.
  • May provide direction to wealth strategists and associates.
  • Retains and grows assets under management by working with clients, prospective clients, and Centers of Influence and by providing advice and implementation.
  • Identifies solutions and PNC services as sales opportunities to enhance existing client relationships.
  • Develops new client relationships through networking, prospecting and referrals.
