About The Position

ClassDojo's goal is to give every child on Earth an education they love. We started by building a powerful network for communication. ClassDojo’s flagship app is the #1 communication app connecting K-12 teachers, children, and families globally. Teachers use it to share what’s happening throughout the day through photos, videos, and messages that make parents feel like they’re there. It’s actively used in over 95% of US schools, reaching over 45 million children in 180 countries, with a team of just around 200 people. We are now beginning to use this network to give kids the best learning experiences in the world, far beyond those a standard school can provide. We hire for talent density. Our team comprises the most talented, entrepreneurial, and innovative teammates from around the world, with experience in education and large scale consumer internet companies, including Instagram, Netflix, Dropbox, Stripe, Uber, Y Combinator, and more. We’re building a company where the most talented people want to work. We believe you’ll do the best work of your life here—and you’ll pioneer the future of education, too. As a Privacy & Trust Support Specialist, you will play a critical role in protecting user trust and ensuring ClassDojo meets its privacy, safety, and compliance commitments across all products. This role sits on the Privacy & Trust Operations team, a branch within the Legal function. You will independently manage regulated privacy and safety workflows, apply strong judgment to problem solve in complex situations, and help scale operational systems as the company grows. You’ll also partner cross-functionally with Product, Engineering, and Customer Success teams to reduce risk and strengthen our privacy and safety posture. This role is ideal for someone who is detail-oriented, thoughtful under pressure, and motivated to improve systems—not just process support tickets.

Requirements

  • You are a problem solver at heart, and you have experience providing 1:1 support to users while meeting response time SLAs
  • You have experience handling regulated privacy or safety workflows, such as data subject requests (DSRs), content moderation reports, or compliance-related processes
  • You demonstrate exceptional attention to detail and consistently produce high-quality, defensible documentation
  • You apply sound, well-reasoned judgment in ambiguous or risk-sensitive situations and understand when to escalate
  • You are comfortable learning new tools, navigating technical systems, and have curiosity about how products work in the backend
  • You have working familiarity with privacy and safety regulations such as GDPR, COPPA, or DSA
  • You communicate clearly and calmly, especially in sensitive or high-stakes scenarios
  • You take ownership of your work and proactively identify ways to improve processes, documentation, or tooling

Nice To Haves

  • You have experience working in EdTech or with products serving children, educators, or families— particularly in a user-facing role
  • You have participated in incident response investigations or cross-functional risk reviews
  • You have partnered with Engineering or Product teams to improve internal tools or workflows
  • You are comfortable working in fast-paced environments where request volume fluctuates, and priorities can shift quickly
  • You solve problems upstream and enjoy thinking in patterns—spotting trends across requests and using that insight to reduce risk at the system level

Responsibilities

  • Knowing the ClassDojo products in and out so you can investigate, solve, and respond to sensitive privacy- and safety-related user issues with care, consistency, and accuracy
  • Independently managing and fulfilling data subject requests (e.g., GDPR, CCPA) and content reports (e.g. DSA, OSA), ensuring responses are accurate, timely, and aligned with regulatory requirements, established SLAs, and internal quality standards
  • Supporting incident response investigations when needed, ensuring accurate record-keeping, cross-functional coordination, and adherence to escalation protocols
  • Identifying patterns and recurring risk themes across privacy and safety requests, and surfacing insights to Product, Engineering, and Security
  • Developing and maintaining clear SOPs, templates, and documentation to ensure operational durability and consistency
  • Proactively identifying opportunities for automation and tooling improvements; scoping and driving small operational projects end-to-end in partnership with Product or Engineering
  • Communicating clearly and professionally with users and internal stakeholders in sensitive or high-stakes situations
