Job Summary Authorization Coordinators in HHCMG Pulmonary Sleep Centers are responsible for obtaining authorizations for Home Sleep Testing. Also responsible for all the aspects of the home sleep testing process, including scheduling appointments for test, device preparation and setup, patient education, troubleshooting, and accurate data download and transfer for clinical interpretation. This role supports efficient access, enhances patient experience, and ensures high-quality diagnostic testing within the Sleep Medicine program. Manage WQ’s to ensure orders for testing are processed properly and in a timely matter to obtain authorizations and schedule appointments for patients to pick up equipment for test. Provide patients with instructions as well as a demonstration on how to properly utilize equipment for test. Upload data for all completed test through appropriate software, ensure all test reports are accurately uploaded and routed to the correct physician for scoring and interpretation. Collaborate closely with the team of physicians for any unsuccessful collected data, to determine if patient requires to repeat the test. Prepare, configure, and assign HST units based on provider orders. Ensure all devices are charged, calibrated, cleaned, and ready for use. Maintain inventory of sensors, belts, and device supplies.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 1 year as a medical receptionist or previous care coordination experience
  • Direct customer service in the medical field
