OPPORTUNITY: We are a folding carton manufacturing operation seeking candidates to join our Printing Department as a Platemaker. We offer outstanding opportunities for our employees to advance their careers through on the job training and job progression. These are skilled trade positions where our employees build successful careers in the Printing & Packaging industry. Our jobs range in pay from $19.99 to $30.00 per hour for Machine Operators and Technicians. Requirements

  • Excellent attendance
  • Be able to work independently
  • Ability to perform each essential duty satisfactorily
  • Ability to pass the pre-employment Mechanical Assessment
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Employees are required to work 12-hour (2-2-3) schedules including weekends.
  • Occasional overtime is required.
  • The employee must not be colorblind.
  • The employee is frequently required to lift under 10 pounds and between 50 to 75 pounds.

Responsibilities

  • Use of platemaking equipment
  • Compare graphics to vinyl/blankets and color
  • Computer computer to plate (CTP) imaging
  • Able to comprehend production schedule
  • Prepare paperwork for next job
