Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • Requires three years of experience in printing.
  • The ability to read, learns, understand, and consistently apply all policies, procedures including safety.
  • Ability to see, read, distinguish letters and/or symbols; must pass a color acuity test.
  • Requires mechanical aptitude.
  • Ability to communicate verbally and written effectively and possess good interpersonal skills.
  • Must be able to operate a forklift and clamp truck and obtain annual certification.
  • Will work in a manufacturing environment and will use the following equipment: Computer, MS office software, hand and power tools.
  • Must be able to perform responsibilities with minimal supervision.
  • Needs to demonstrate a strong work ethic.
  • Must be willing to learn and perform all tasks and duties required in the department.
  • Must be able to work any shift schedule.
  • Continuous mental and visual attention performing diversified activities requiring constant alertness.
  • Requires constant walking and standing a great amount of time in extreme heat with a moderate amount of exposure to extreme cold, dampness, heights, vibration, skin/lung irritants.
  • A moderate amount of time will be spent sitting, walking, climbing, bending/twisting, pushing/pulling, carrying, reaching out/above shoulders, climbing ladders.
  • Ability to lift up to 50+ pounds occasionally and lifting/carrying up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.
  • A great amount of time will be spent lifting/lowering and crouching.
  • A great amount of time will be spent in a noisy environment.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the viscosity and pH of coatings and inks within established tolerances.
  • Properly prepare rewind shafts and effectively understand the functions of the rewind section.
  • Perform support functions, e.g., plate mounting, wastewater, anilox cleaning, etc.
  • Accurate management of raw materials within the established system.
  • Manage the movement of rolls and pallets with a fork lift truck or clamp truck.
  • Clean and maintain all equipment and materials. Clean required equipment after each changeover as instructed.
  • Prepare rolls properly to function efficiently in the splicing operation.
  • Accurately execute the splicing of two rolls. Understand all functions of the splicing equipment and understand how to determine the proper splice timing to minimize waste.
  • Follow directions from Technical Leads
  • All other duties as assigned by supervisor.
