We have an immediate opening for Color Tech for our wallcovering manufacturing business: 2nd shift (Mon-Fri 3pm-11:30pm) w/potential overtime. Our ideal candidates will color match and pre-match to standards to ensure the best color possible and its repeatability, to maintain the dispenser, X-rite, Standards and other essential tools to function properly to achieve maximum productivity with minimum waste and reuse to save cost.

Requirements

  • Excellent attendance is a requirement for this position
  • Good math, language and reading skills, basic computer skills and knowledge of how to use a weight scale
  • High degree of attention to detail to specs and standards
  • Execute assignments in an accurate, timely and safe manner
  • Ability to pass a color test and to make accurate color adjustments (color test score must be 85% or higher)
  • Physical, drug test, and background check are part of our pre-hire process
  • Frequently lift up to 50 lbs. and adjust body position to bend, stoop, stand, walk, turn, pivot and stand for long periods of time
  • Have a good sense of balance
  • Have good eye/hand/foot coordination
  • Ability to assess weights and time management
  • Ability to work in varying temperatures, depending on the season

Responsibilities

  • Communicate with supervisors, printer operators, quality control and other color techs
  • Check machine schedules to determine what is needed (color match, pre-match)
  • Ability to read a schedule to determine ink usage and type
  • Must be able to see color and the ability to add pigment to inks to match company standards in a timely manner
  • Ink Management (collecting inks from the machines when finished to separate for reuse or disposal)
  • Use X-rite and its software to maintain ink standard recipes for repeatability
  • Follow each machine's specific JSAs for machine safety while color matching
