About The Position

Print Supplies Chief of Staff Description - The Chief of Staff (CoS) supports the SVP and Division President of the Print Supplies Business who oversees the Print Supplies Organization of more than 3,000 employees from Ink Supplies & Brand Protection, Toner Supplies & Solutions, Supplies Forecasting and Analytics, Specialty Printing & Technology Solutions and Inkjet Supplies Development & Operations. The Chief of Staff will act as a strategic leader, strengthening operational efficiency and fostering effective partnerships within both the Print Supplies Organization and the broader Print community. This position is pivotal to the success of the Print Supplies Business, driving key outcomes and sustaining momentum for enterprise-wide business excellence, which encompasses strategic direction, major initiatives, communications, cultural development, and overall governance. The role combines responsibilities in strategy, organizational optimization, and efficient execution of complex tasks that demand meticulous attention and proactive planning. As an individual contributor, this position engages with the L2 Print Supplies Leadership team, Extended Staff Leaders, and has visibility into the L2 Print Leadership Team and L2 Print CoS community. Additionally, it requires superior diplomatic skills, adaptability, and the ability to manage high-pressure situations, facilitating alignment, collaboration, and performance across the Print Supplies Leadership Team.

Requirements

  • Recommended: Four-year or Graduate Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or any other related discipline or commensurate work experience or demonstrated competence.
  • Typically has 10+ years of work experience, preferably in strategy, planning, operations, market research, or a related field.
  • Knowledge & Skills: Broad business and/or operational experience (7-10 years).
  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Results-oriented with demonstrated experience in managing complex programs and projects in a large, global, matrixed organization
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Executive presence with high-emotional intelligence and discretion
  • Excellent ability to use systems thinking, prioritize ambiguity, simplify complexity into a compelling business storytelling presentation
  • Presentation tools and develop clear, succinct and compelling content for executive-level presentations and communications

Responsibilities

  • Strategic Planning & Execution Manage the governance of the strategic priorities for the organization and monitoring of KPIs through the quarterly dashboard (Smartsheet)
  • Lead the development of executive‑level narratives and presentation materials (LTP, SBTN, QBR, QDR), ensuring clarity, alignment, and strategic storytelling
  • Ensure timely coordination of executive meetings follow up / action items through appropriate tracking in place incl. ELT Smartsheet action item QDR dashboard
  • Support ad-hoc request from the Supplies Leadership Partner and work with Print Chiefs of Staff community, to prepare requested materials, collaborating with internal and external stakeholders as required
  • Manage and facilitate weekly staff meetings, help with setting priorities, and drive agenda topics for the staff. Set schedule for key program reviews
  • Plan and facilitate meetings incl. quarterly Supplies Leadership staff face-to-face meetings, monthly All Manager Meetings, quarterly Employee Meetings, bi-quarterly Unplugged Sessions and by key Supplies site Connect Sessions
  • Act as a strategic advisor to L2/L3 leadership, shaping decision frameworks and identifying cross-business risks and opportunities
  • Leadership & Influence Facilitate alignment across diverse executive stakeholders to drive unified decision-making
  • Influence leaders without authority to maintain momentum on enterprise-level initiatives
  • Navigate ambiguous environments with judgment, discretion, and diplomacy
  • Communication Manage and support internal communications to the organization incl. announcements, newsletters, the intranet Supplies website to be an effective communication platform for the organization
  • Partner with Print Supplies external communications lead to ensure strategic alignment
  • Operational Excellence Development and management of annual meetings and activities cadence / calendar (Smartsheet) and where applicable design agendas, coordination of content preparation and facilitate discussion, document and action item follow through
  • Support an effective calendaring and prioritization process that is regularly discussed in staff (at least once a quarter) to provide clarity and structure to the organization
  • Support effective program management of all strategic initiatives through a structured and consistent set of KPIs and framework
  • Ensure timely follow-up and closure of staff action items from all above meetings
  • Architect and continue to redefine operating mechanisms that enable the Print Supplies strategy to translate into execution
  • Culture and Our People Activate HP’s Leadership Principles (start with the customer, develop the team, deliver outcomes) through employee forums and engagement
  • Drive Culture Ambassador Team with direction to lead initiatives to boost employee engagement, connection and performance across teams and the organization
  • Actively monitor and analyze employee and target audience feedback to enhance engagement incl. communication effectiveness
  • Partner with Supplies HR Business Partner to support leadership capability and overall job requisition management
  • Cross-Function Partnership Serve as a business connector across L2 Print CoS community and L3 Print Supplies Leadership with the best interest of the organization with integration of Print Supplies strategy, priorities and initiatives
  • Provide strategic thought-leader counsel to L2 and L3 Print Supplies Leadership applying business acumen and stakeholder alignment
