About The Position

The role of Print Shop Supervisor is one that requires previous experience leading a team of individuals, demonstrated experience with InDesign in Photoshop, and mailing operations. Strong attention to detail, strong communication skills, and an eye for quality is essential for this role. The team is responsible for handling all aspects of the printing process—from taking orders from customers to operating equipment to ensuring that printed materials meet quality standards. Oversight of the team and working directly must be able to multitask effectively in order to handle the volume of work that comes their way on a daily basis. This position is onsite 5 days a week in our Richardson location. May need to work some hours to cover employee shifts on weekends as needed during high volume season.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Valid Texas driver's license.
  • At least 2 years of people leadership experience with a minimum of 5 direct reports.
  • At least 2 years of experience using InDesign in Photoshop, PDF Exchange.
  • Basic demonstrated experience using Excel.
  • Demonstrated experience overseeing work in printshop capacity.
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
  • Ability to work independently, problem-solve, and multi-task.
  • Demonstrated experience to delegate, mitigate risks, and handle high volume of work in a short timeline.
  • Effective communication, organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to operate large volume printers, copiers, computers, and other equipment.
  • High Attention to detail / quality control.
  • Significant lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling; moderate standing, stooping, bending, and repetitive hand motions.
  • Ability to handle a large volume of requests with composure.

Responsibilities

  • Leads a team of Print Shop Associates, providing guidance and development on daily basis.
  • Oversees the day-to-day operations of the print and mailing of company materials.
  • Serves as back-up to departmental Director.
  • Operates a variety of print shop equipment including bindery, folder, paper drill, jogger, cutter, special binding, and staplers. Collates materials both manually and with machinery.
  • Knowledge of PDF Exchange, InDesign, Photoshop, Excel.
  • Deliver mail to Post Office, FedEx, locate branch offices within a 20 mile radius.
  • Sets up, stocking, packing, inspecting each run for accuracy and quality. operates and maintains machinery for production of printed material. Performs routine maintenance and repair on equipment. Identifies and reports malfunctions. Receives work order requests. troubleshooting mechanical problems, optimizing material usage, and using computers to download files from email, so flexibility and the ability to work with various mechanical and electronic systems are essential to success in this field.
  • Provide exceptional customer service and solutions to customers print needs to produce professionally finished products.
  • Operates and maintains high-volume black & white and color digital printing equipment controlled through print-management (Fiery) software and PrismaDirect.
  • Participate in departmental meetings and special events as assigned.
  • Establish and maintain open lines of communication with administration and staff.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
