About The Position

The Print Supervisor oversees daily operations and provides direct supervision to hourly team members within the print department. This role is responsible for ensuring safe, efficient, and high‑quality production across all print processes. The position is scheduled for 2nd shift (3:00 p.m. – 11:00 p.m.), Monday through Friday. Occasional Saturday work may be required, and the incumbent may also be asked to provide coverage for supervisors on other shifts as business needs arise.

Requirements

  • High School diploma required, bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment required
  • Experience with printing operations, including setup, operation, and maintenance of major press systems (e.g., KBA, Heidelberg, Goss) and an understanding of workflow optimization across print equipment.
  • Broad knowledge of printing substrates and processes, such as sheet‑fed and roll-fed production, litho-laminating, material flow, and the quality controls necessary to maintain consistent output.
  • Strong understanding of ink, color, and print quality management, including color matching, troubleshooting print defects, and ensuring alignment with established print standards.
  • Proven ability to lead, coach, and develop hourly production teams in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Strong understanding of organizational policies, standards, and procedures, with the ability to apply and influence them to improve manufacturing processes and outcomes.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of safety practices, regulatory requirements, and environmental guidelines, with the ability to promote a safe and compliant work environment.
  • Familiarity with current and emerging manufacturing methods, including best practices for producing products and product components efficiently and at high quality.
  • Knowledge of both day‑to‑day operational needs and longer‑term strategic considerations involved in managing a manufacturing facility.
  • Understanding of core plant operations, including production flow, resource allocation, equipment utilization, and operational troubleshooting.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing technologies and applications, with the ability to leverage tools and systems that optimize processes, improve quality, and enhance equipment performance.

Responsibilities

  • Execute operational strategies within assigned area(s) to achieve company goals related to safety, productivity, quality, customer service, cost control, and overall profitability.
  • Owns key performance metrics for the assigned area, including machine and labor efficiency, and provides coaching and direction to production associates to ensure scorecard targets are consistently met.
  • Supports capacity planning and scheduling efforts to ensure on‑time delivery performance for both internal and external customers.
  • Partners with cross‑functional leaders to advance continuous improvement initiatives that enhance process efficiency, equipment performance, and operational excellence.
  • Provides leadership in staffing, training, employee relations, and performance management to build and strengthen a high‑performing salaried and hourly production team.
  • Collaborates with key stakeholders to deliver technical support, troubleshoot issues, and resolve customer order concerns in a timely and professional manner.
  • Maintains current industry, technical, and professional knowledge through networking, participation in industry events, and ongoing review of relevant publications.
