ARC Document Solutions is seeking a skilled and dedicated Large Format Print Operator to join our team in Costa Mesa. As a Print Operator, you will play a crucial role in producing high-quality prints and ensuring the timely delivery of all jobs.   • Examine work orders to determine production details such as quantities, stock specifications, production times, and colors.
  • Set up, operate, adjust, and maintain printing equipment to ensure it functions properly throughout the printing process.
  • Select the correct material settings, print head height, speeds, passes, and ICC profiles at the printer.
  • Load appropriate material onto the printer as specified in the work order.
  • Inspect materials for external defects such as dings, dents, and fingerprints.
  • Clean the surface of materials and print heads following manufacturer specifications.
  • Locate the correct file generated from the RIP station via the pre-press department.
  • Run a small sample for internal color matching or a reduced-sized hard proof, ensuring all settings and specifications are documented on the work order.
  • Produce two proofs if the hard proof is going to the client.
  • Compare color matches and obtain client approval on the hard proof.
  • Print file(s) at the final size on the same printer used for color matching/hard proofs.
  • Regularly monitor equipment for print quality, head malfunctions, and ink levels.
  • Unload material from the printer and verify quantity counts match the work order.
  • Perform quality checks on each item to ensure accurate color and consistency.
  • Advance the product and work order to the next station in the production process.
  • Return the remaining board material to its assigned location before proceeding.
  • Previous experience as a Large Format Print Operator or similar role is preferred.
  • Familiarity with printing equipment setup, operation, adjustment, and maintenance.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to examine materials for defects.
  • Knowledge of color matching and proofing processes.
  • Ability to follow work orders and document specifications accurately.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
