About The Position

The Principal Engineer is the global technical authority and conduit of high‑quality engineering knowledge for Accessory Systems within Product Services. This role is accountable for the technical rigor, consistency, and effectiveness of engineering responses across the GE Vernova fleet, including ER case resolution, Root Cause Analyses (RCAs), and customer communications. The Principal Engineer plays a critical role in shaping the technical strategy, safety posture, and long‑term health of accessory system technologies, while managing complex, high‑impact issues across the product lifecycle. This role demonstrates accountability for functional, business, and broad company objectives; integrates and develops processes that meet evolving business needs; and actively mentors and develops engineers across a global, matrixed organization. Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, or Computer Science
  • At least 8 additional years of experience in an engineering capacity
  • Previous experience in gas turbine and/or steam turbine accessory system engineering or product service
  • Proven ability to lead technically complex work, influence decisions, and mentor engineers.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the global technical authority for Product Service Accessory Systems, ensuring consistent, high‑quality engineering responses across the GE Vernova fleet.
  • Own and lead complex issue resolution , including ER case support, Root Cause Analyses, and definition and approval of corrective actions.
  • Ensure technical rigor, safety compliance, and engineering quality in all service recommendations, design changes, and field responses.
  • Act as the technical approver and escalation point for RCA conclusions, corrective actions, and safety‑critical issues.
  • Own the technical quality and consistency of customer and internal communications , including review and approval of technical content.
  • Provide expert technical consultation to cross‑functional teams (engineering, manufacturing, sourcing, field service, suppliers) to resolve product, manufacturing, and field issues.
  • Serve as the conduit of technical information globally , including chairing or leading technology forums as required.
  • Own and maintain knowledge management structures , including historical issue data, lessons learned, and technical guidance.
  • Mentor and coach engineers to ensure consistent application of engineering standards, problem‑solving rigor, and professional development.
  • Support the Chief Engineer’s Office in execution of technical governance, enterprise risk management, and compliance activities.
  • Promote and model a strong culture of safety, quality, and One Team collaboration.
