About The Position

Join the Academies of Math and Science (AMS) and become a transformative leader within one of Arizona’s highest-performing public charter networks. We are seeking exceptional instructional leaders to support campus needs across our Phoenix region for the 2025–2026 school year. This evergreen requisition allows us to identify and engage strong school leaders proactively as our network continues to grow and evolve. Selected candidates will be considered for upcoming principal openings across the Phoenix region. As an AMS Principal, you will lead with purpose, cultivate a strong, achievement-focused school culture, and ensure students—many from historically underserved communities—receive an excellent education each day. This role is more than administration; it is an opportunity to elevate instruction, develop educators, and shape a school community where students are known, supported, and held to high academic and behavioral expectations.

Requirements

• Demonstrated success in school leadership at the site, district, or network level.
• Proven track record of instructional coaching, teacher development, and leading adults.
• Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Experience working with at-risk, diverse, or historically underserved student communities.
• Proficiency in data analysis and leveraging academic data to improve instruction.
• Strong computer and data management skills (Excel preferred).
• Bachelor’s degree or higher.
• Commitment to preparing students for college, careers, and long-term success
• Minimum of three consecutive years of employment with AMS.
• At least two years of experience as an Assistant Principal or Director.
• Most recent end-of-year PLP evaluation ratings of “Effective” or higher in all areas.

Nice To Haves

• Bilingual in Spanish.
• Experience supporting English Language Learners and implementing research-based strategies.
• Knowledge of foundational literacy, including the Science of Reading.
• Experience with standards-based instruction and K–8 curriculum alignment.
• Experience integrating STEM programming within core instruction.
• Holds or is eligible to obtain an Arizona Standard Professional Principal Certificate.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage schoolwide instructional programs aligned to AMS academic goals.
• Develop and coach teachers through observations, feedback cycles, and professional learning communities.
• Cultivate a positive, inclusive school culture grounded in high expectations for achievement and behavior.
• Analyze student achievement data and facilitate data-informed instructional decisions.
• Strengthen systems for student support, discipline, and social-emotional learning.
• Oversee compliance with state requirements, assessments, operational policies, and reporting.
• Collaborate with network leadership to implement high-impact academic and operational systems.
