About The Position

Albemarle County Public Schools is currently accepting applications for Principal of Henley Middle School for the 2026-2027 school year. The exact start date for this position is to be determined, but will be on or before July 1, 2026. Requirements

  • All applicants must hold (or be eligible by June 30, 2026) a Virginia teaching license with an endorsement in Administration and Supervision PK-12.
  • A minimum of three years experience as a principal, assistant principal, or commensurate central office experience and five years teaching experience required.
  • A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year institution is required; a Master’s degree in Education, Administration, or a related field is required.
  • Must hold an endorsement in PK-12 Admin and Supervision
  • A minimum of five years teaching or related experience is required.

Nice To Haves

  • Secondary level principal experience preferred.
  • Experience in planning and opening a new educational facility is highly desirable.
  • Experience in working with business and industry partners is preferred.
