About The Position

St. Therese Little Flower Catholic School is seeking a faith-filled, student-centered, data-driven instructional leader to serve as principal for its PreK–8 community, located on the east side of Indianapolis. The school educates a diverse community of approximately 330 students, whose gifts and character are all celebrated. The next principal will continue to build on these gifts to lead the school on its commitment to academic and spiritual growth. St. Therese Little Flower Catholic School is honoring a 100-year legacy in the Little Flower neighborhood, and celebrates deep alumni roots and a strong parish connection. The school provides a Christ-centered environment grounded in the Catholic belief in a Universal Church that welcomes all cultures and backgrounds. Students experience a robust House system, multi-cultural programming, and varied extra-curricular opportunities that promote leadership, belonging, and service. Summary of Position Duties The successful candidate's duties will include, but not be limited to, the following:

Requirements

  • Be a practicing Catholic in good standing (as verified by pastoral leadership of an (arch)diocesan parish).
  • Be dedicated to the development and preservation of Catholic identity within our school.
  • Possess exceptional leadership, communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills.
  • Exhibit a passion for student achievement, academic excellence, and an inclusive multicultural community.
  • Be skilled at hiring, training, and retaining teachers and staff, with a passion for building and developing a culture of spirituality, shared goals, enthusiasm, and teamwork.
  • Possess a valid school administrator's license.

Responsibilities

  • Primary school ministry representation to parents, pastoral leadership, Little Flower parish, and the Little Flower neighborhood and surrounding neighborhoods.
  • Champion the House system that promotes belonging, leadership, school spirit, and cross-grade relationships, ensuring that every student is valued.
  • Lead the implementation and improvement of rigorous curriculum and instruction, using assessment data (including state and local benchmark assessments) to set goals, monitor progress, and close achievement gaps in literacy and math.
  • Supervise, coach, and evaluate faculty and staff, with particular attention to recruiting, developing, and retaining mission-aligned educators who embrace culturally responsive and data-informed instruction.
  • Provide leadership and collaboration with marketing and enrollment efforts, including welcoming new families and strengthening alumni relationships.
  • Collaborate with the pastor and parish leadership on strategic planning and budgeting, including outreach to alumni and donors.
  • Collaborate with principals and pastors of the Eastside Catholic School Partnership of Our Lady of Lourdes, Holy Spirit, Little Flower, and Scecina Memorial High School.
  • Continue and expand upon the strong PK – 12 relationship and collaboration with Scecina Memorial High School as the parish high school.
  • Maintain compliance with Archdiocesan, state, and accreditation requirements, including implementation of relevant state standards and NSBECS requirements.
