About The Position

The Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) is seeking compassionate and committed individuals to join our team as a Principal at the Youth Rehabilitation and Treatment Center in Omaha. This professional provides essential oversight and support to the school and male youth. This vital role directly supports our mission of Helping People Live Better Lives. About the Role This position will display leadership through strategic thinking, relationship building, and holding themselves and faculty accountable to the mission of YRTC Omaha. The Principal will manage the day-to-day operation of the school; this includes planning, organizing, selecting, evaluating, directing, coordinating, and reporting of actions necessary to run an effective and efficient school.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Education Administration with teaching experience.
  • Must hold a Nebraska Administrative and Supervisory certificate with a Principal 7-12 endorsement.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate efforts to assist students with reaching high academic achievements.
  • Articulate a clear and compelling vision to prepare all students for college, career, and community leadership.
  • Set challenging goals, continuously monitor progress, and demonstrate persistence to overcome obstacles to achieve goals.
  • Proactively develop and implement school improvement plans to accomplish student achievement goals.
  • Help teachers reach and engage each student based on individual needs and interests.
  • Complete staff evaluations; coaching/mentoring the talent of the faculty and staff.
  • Follow a clear and consistent policy for dealing with issues involving student discipline and interactions among teachers and facility staff.
