About The Position

Being a member of Technology Research & Innovation (TRI) Department of IT Business Unit, the TRI AI Governance Associate Director is a senior individual‑contributor and thought‑leader role responsible for shaping, executing, and continuously improving DTCC’s enterprise AI governance framework. This role partners closely with the AI Enablement Team (AET), AI Council, Technology Risk, Compliance, Legal, Model Risk, Privacy, Cyber, and product and engineering teams to ensure AI use cases are identified, assessed, governed, monitored, and reported in accordance with DTCC AI Policy, enterprise standards, and regulatory and audit expectations. The Associate Director will strengthen DTCC’s first line of defense for AI by providing review, challenge, guidance, and oversight across the AI lifecycle, while enabling responsible innovation at scale.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 10 years of related experience
  • Bachelor's degree preferred and/or equivalent experience
  • 10+ years of experience in technology, risk management, governance, or related fields, preferably within financial services.
  • Strong understanding of AI concepts, model lifecycles, and associated risk domains (e.g., model risk, data risk, privacy, cyber, operational risk).
  • Proven track record to review, challenge, and influence sophisticated initiatives while balancing innovation with risk and control requirements.
  • Experience working across enterprise governance processes, including issue management, policy development, and executive reporting.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder leadership skills, with the ability to synthesize sophisticated topics for non experts plus audit, and regulatory audiences

  • Direct experience supporting or partnering with AI governance, model risk management, data governance, or emerging technology oversight functions.
  • Familiarity with enterprise portfolio governance, metrics, and board‑level reporting.
  • Experience operating in fast‑paced, lean teams with high visibility and accountability.

Responsibilities

  • Support the development, implementation, and ongoing improvement of DTCC’s AI governance framework, policies, standards, and procedures.
  • Review, challenge, and provide mentorship on AI use cases to ensure risks are identified, assessed, mitigated, accepted, or remediated in alignment with DTCC’s risk appetite.
  • Ensure AI governance activities produce clear, consistent, and auditable artifacts to support internal audit, regulatory reviews, and management assurance.
  • Align AI governance practices with DTCC’s broader risk, control, issue management, and compliance frameworks.
  • Monitor emerging AI‑related regulatory, industry, and supervisory developments and assess impacts to DTCC governance and controls.
  • Partner with the AI Enablement Team to guide AI use case submissions through appropriate review and governance pathways, including AET Review, AI Registry, and additional Portfolio Management/ARB/SDP processes.
  • Ensure AI use cases are evaluated for consistency, duplication, risk exposure, and alignment with enterprise standards.
  • Support maintenance and quality assurance of enterprise AI inventories, registries, and attestations for production AI solutions.
  • Define, review, and improve AI governance metrics, benchmarks, and KRIs to provide transparent, defensible insight into AI adoption, risk posture, and control efficiency.
  • Prepare materials for leadership, governance forums, and regulatory collaborators, including dashboards, summaries, and presentations.
  • Support consistent enterprise reporting on AI initiatives, risks, and governance efficiency.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to product, engineering, data, risk, compliance, and legal partners on responsible AI governance and control expectations.
  • Collaborate with team members across the lines of defense to ensure cohesive execution of AI governance, risk, and audit objectives.
  • Chip in to education sessions, working groups, and forums to reinforce AI governance, control, and audit ready practices across DTCC.
