About The Position

SLR is seeking a Principal Traffic Signal/ITS Lead to serve as an integral part of our team in Connecticut. The candidate will supervise a team of signal designers and manage a wide range of traffic engineering projects in Connecticut and New England. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with a multidisciplinary team of experienced licensed engineers, landscape architects, planners, scientists, and other professional staff that will be supportive of their growth and development. The salary range for this position is $150,000.00 - $170,000.00. Final agreed upon compensation will be commensurate with individual education, professional designation, experience, internal parity, and location. Requirements

• Bachelor of Science degree in Civil or Transportation Engineering
• Minimum 15 years' experience in the field of Transportation Engineering
• Licensed Professional Engineer (CT preferred or ability to get reciprocity)
• Project management experience
• Business development experience
• Experience on DOT projects in the region

Responsibilities

• Supervise the signal design team
• Help grow the traffic signal design/ITS practice at SLR
• Manage various traffic engineering and signal design projects
• Provide senior oversight on projects and serve as a technical resource
• Business development with public and private sector clients
• Prepare contract documents, including plans, specifications, and estimates
• Perform quality review of design plans and contract documents
• Participate in meetings with clients and project team members
