Dewberry is currently seeking an ITS / Traffic Engineer to support our growing Transportation design practice. This position will be based in our Orlando, FL office. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering or a related discipline
  • 5+ years of relevant ITS / Traffic design experience, preferably with FDOT
  • Florida Professional Engineering (PE) license, or the ability to obtain it within 6 months
  • Proficiency in Microstation/OpenRoads Designer
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Strong desire to be an key contributor to a high-performing team

Responsibilities

  • Serve as Engineer-of-Record, Project Engineer, and/or Task Lead, depending on project specifics, for various Traffic Engineering sub-disciplines (ITS, Lighting, Signals, and/or Signing & Pavement Marking)
  • Perform QC reviews of design analyses and plans prepared by Staff and by other consultants
  • Serving as Owner’s representative on General Engineering Consultant contracts, perform a variety of ITS / Traffic design tasks and engineering analyses
  • Collaborate with other Transportation Discipline Leads and Project Managers
  • Provide post-design services including performing shop drawing reviews, responding to RFI’s, and developing plans revisions during project construction.
  • Perform plans production and construction specifications development
  • Build strong working relationships with transportation clients across Florida.
