About the Team The Enterprise People Technology team at Walmart Global Tech is responsible for delivering scalable, intuitive, and secure HR technology solutions across the enterprise. Our work enables every associate and manager to focus on what matters most-serving our customers and members-by simplifying and modernizing the tools they use every day. About the Role As a Principal TPM, you will serve as a strategic leader and technical authority across multiple programs and platforms, including Workday and OpenStack. You'll drive enterprise-wide initiatives, influence architectural decisions, and ensure alignment between business goals and technical execution. Your role will be pivotal in shaping the roadmap, guiding cross-functional teams, and delivering innovative solutions that elevate Walmart's People Technology ecosystem.

Requirements

10+ years of experience leading enterprise-scale HR technology programs, preferably within Walmart or similarly complex environments.
Expert-level proficiency in Workday (including Studio, Prism, and Reporting) and OpenStack platforms.
Strong strategic thinking and ability to translate business needs into scalable technical solutions.
Exceptional leadership and communication skills, with a track record of influencing across technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Advanced knowledge of program management tools and methodologies (Agile, SAFe, etc.).
Demonstrated success in mentoring senior-level TPMs and driving cross-functional alignment.
Growth mindset, with a passion for innovation, simplification, and delivering measurable business impact.
Option 1: Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, engineering, or related area and 6 years' experience in engineering, engineering program management, technical program management, product management, or related area.
Option 2: 8 years' experience in engineering, engineering program management, technical program management, product management, or related area.

Nice To Haves

Certification in Project Management.
Master's degree in Business Administration, with specialization in strategy, supply chain, finance, information systems, or related area and 4 years' experience in product design.

Responsibilities

Strategic Program Leadership: Own the delivery of large-scale, cross-functional programs that span multiple business units and geographies. Define program vision, success metrics, and execution strategy.
Enterprise Architecture Alignment: Collaborate with engineering, architecture, and product teams to ensure Workday and OpenStack solutions are scalable, secure, and aligned with Walmart's enterprise standards.
Executive Stakeholder Engagement: Influence senior leaders across HR, Tech, and Business functions. Communicate program status, risks, and outcomes with clarity and confidence.
Technical Oversight: Guide the design, integration, and optimization of Workday Recruiting, Reporting, and Core HCM modules. Ensure robust data flows, system uptime, and compliance.
Mentorship & Leadership: Coach Staff TPMs and other team members, fostering a culture of technical excellence, innovation, and continuous improvement.
Risk & Change Management: Anticipate and mitigate risks across programs. Lead change management efforts to ensure smooth adoption and minimal disruption.
Operational Excellence: Drive best practices in program tracking, issue resolution, and documentation using tools like Jira, ServiceNow, and Confluence.
