We are looking for you to join our team as a Principal Technical Editor and Writer based out of Orlando, FL. These other locations may also be considered: Huntsville, AL., Bellevue, NE., or McLean, VA. As a Principal Technical Editor and Writer at Northrop Grumman, you will have a challenging and rewarding opportunity to be a part of our Cross-Domain Handling of Releasable Data (CHORD) portfolio. CHORD is a Foreign Military Sales (FMS) two-domain Cross Domain Solution (CDS). The CHORD portfolio comprises multiple contract awards and with various customers. The successful candidate will be exceptionally meticulous, collaborative, open, transparent, and team-oriented with a focus on team empowerment & personal responsibility, flexibility, continuous learning, and a culture of seeking the best performance from everyone.

Requirements

  • A High School diploma and a minimum of 9 years of Technical Writer and Editor experience.
  • A Bachelor's Degree in English or related discipline (and 5 years of relevant experience; 3 years with Masters; or 1 year with PhD) may also be considered.
  • A current DoD Secret Clearance.
  • Demonstrated experience with MS Office Products i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
  • Excellent written and oral communications skills.
  • Able to collaborate in a team environment.

  • Expertise with MS Office Products i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with other functional teams.
  • Ability to track multiple document deliveries simultaneously including addressing customer comments, and redelivery.
  • Demonstrated experience in ensuring consistent, high-quality documentation.
  • Experience with creation and publication of technical documentation / collection and interpretation of technical data.

Responsibilities

  • Perform Data Management (DM) duties for the program.
  • Interface regularly with configuration management to track SDRLs through the delivery and acceptance process.
  • Be responsible for ensuring consistent documentation formatting.
  • Coordinate peer reviews and ensure comments are addressed.
  • Deliver SDRLs to the customer and track customer comments/acceptance.
