About The Position

Amazon is heavily investing in building a world-class advertising business, focusing on defining and delivering self-service performance advertising products that drive discovery and sales. These products are strategically important for Retail and Marketplace businesses, contributing to long-term growth by delivering billions of ad impressions and millions of clicks daily. The Ads AI Core infrastructure team develops core services for Advertiser Registration and Access Management, Ad Catalog Service, Billing, Data Ingestion/Publishing, and Analytics, which support advertising programs like Sponsored Products and Sponsored Brands. This role involves collaborating with numerous teams across WW Advertising to enhance the resilience of advertising systems. As a Principal Technical Program Manager, the focus is entirely on the customer, understanding their needs, anticipating future trends, and driving results. This includes coordinating large, multi-functional projects on time, anticipating bottlenecks, managing escalations, making trade-offs, and balancing business needs with technical constraints. The role also involves defining or reviewing systems-level technical designs, rationalizing technical requirements and business priorities in cross-functional teams, and managing communication to align all stakeholders. The ideal candidate will have a strong program management background, experience leading medium to large products and projects, and a solid understanding of current web technologies. They must thrive in an entrepreneurial environment, be comfortable with ambiguity, and possess maturity, high judgment, negotiation skills, influence, and leadership. The role requires a data-driven and analytical approach to understand business metrics and growth aspirations, along with excellent verbal and written communication skills for all organizational levels, including senior management. The position is suited for someone motivated by managing initiatives that span multiple teams.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of working directly with engineering teams experience
  • 7+ years of technical product or program management experience
  • 5+ years of software development experience
  • Experience designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems
  • Experience managing programs across cross functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules
  • Experience owning/driving roadmap strategy and definition
  • Strong program management background
  • Demonstrated experience leading medium to large products and projects
  • Well-rounded background in current web technologies
