About The Position

AWS Manufacturing & Repair operations is focused on automated assembly solutions where innovative solutions are needed to accelerate overall manufacturing time, working backwards from customers to increase critical capacity for AWS services by improving yield and reliability while reducing cycle time. This new highly cross-functional initiative brings together critical expertise from a wide-range of Amazon teams dedicated to meeting and exceeding customer expectations through innovative validation processes and Amazon operational excellence. We are seeking a Principal, Technical Infrastructure Program Manager, in this role you will be the connective tissue across a significantly complex, cross-organizational program where the business strategy is defined but the infrastructure build strategy, operational framework, and delivery mechanisms must be driven to clarity from the ground up. This role will own the Program Management Office (PMO) functions end-to-end, develop and steward the program roadmap, and serve as the primary escalation point for workstream owners, partner teams, and senior leaders across several VP organizations. You bring structure to complexity, urgency to delivery, and trust to every team you partner with. You will work with independence, proactively driving clarity in ambiguous situations, aligning teams and organizations toward coherent approaches, and force-multiplying the effectiveness of every workstream you touch. Your work will have broad cross-organizational impact and may carry global implications for AWS infrastructure capacity delivery. AWS Manufacturing & Repair is a part of the broader AWS Infrastructure Services team which owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree, or experience in Engineering, Operations, Business Administration, or a related field
  • 10+ years of program management, tech program management, or related experience

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in enterprise scale infrastructure or development-based cloud programs/projects in a related industry
  • Knowledge of critical data center equipment
  • Experience handling ambiguous or undefined challenges through strong problem solving abilities
  • Bachelor's degree, or Master's degree in supply chain management, operations, engineering, analytics or related field
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent certification
  • Background managing programs with external partners, contract manufacturers, or outsourced service providers

Responsibilities

  • Roadmap Planning & Strategic Execution Develop and maintain the program roadmap, translating strategic objectives into phased execution plans with clear milestones, owners, and accountability across all workstreams.
  • Partner with program leadership to align roadmap priorities with organizational investment cycles, operational readiness timelines, and Phase 1, 2, and 3 delivery commitments. Anticipate downstream impacts of roadmap decisions and develop contingency plans to mitigate risk. Communicate roadmap progress and pivots clearly to stakeholders at all levels, ensuring a unified and trusted view of program direction. Make strategic trade-offs between business opportunity, resources, and sustainability—and own those decisions.
  • Cross-Organizational Alignment & Influence Work across VP organizations to align teams toward simple, coherent approaches that accelerate delivery and reduce complexity. Build consensus across diverse stakeholder groups including engineering, operations, supply chain, facilities, and external partners. Serve as the primary escalation point for workstream owners—managing escalations rather than escalating them—and demonstrate excellent judgment in determining when and how to engage senior leaders. Influence program priorities, resource allocation, and organizational decisions through data-driven recommendations and strong narrative writing.
  • Proactively identify gaps and opportunities between workstreams, organizations, and processes, and drive resolution.
  • Drive operational excellence by streamlining processes, eliminating unnecessary mechanisms, and creating predictable delivery paths across the program. Conduct post-mortems and retrospectives to capture lessons learned and continuously improve program execution.
