We put our systems together, exercise them in the lab or in the field, measure and analyze performance, and make sure our products work the first time and every time. To accomplish this, we develop plans and procedures, debug and evaluate system functions and interfaces, develop test environments, and work together with our customers. The Systems Engineering and Test Capabilities (SETC) organization is hiring a Principal Systems Engineer to join our Tucson, AZ location. The position is located onsite in Tucson, AZ. What You Will Do Develop, maintain, and improve system and subsystem requirements, interfaces, behaviors and architecture Perform requirements flow down / allocation and traceability along with development of the Requirements Verification Matrix Support system performance analysis, test equipment, and Integration and Test Utilize a variety of enabling technologies such as Cameo Model Based Systems Engineering and DOORS for Requirement Management Facilitate technical discussions with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) across multiple engineering disciplines to identify and formulate plans of action, trades or analysis Responsibilities to Anticipate Perform integration, verification, and testing to ensure the system under test performs according to design, specs and/or requirements Perform data collection activities, including review and assessment of data elements, and provide detailed reports of results Trace and/or correct faults in mechanical or electronic systems. Familiarity with failure reporting, analysis, corrective action and/or fault tree analysis Create/modify documentation in support of reviews associated with formal testing, which include Test Readiness Review (TRR), Consent to Ship (CTS), and Test Data Review (TDR) packages Support field testing Communicate weekly with customer counterparts to status and coordinate missile builds and test events Coordinate across engineering functions to support missile builds, test support and data analysis.

Requirements

  • Typically requires a Bachelor’s in science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of eight (8) years of relevant prior experience
  • Experience in Systems Engineering
  • Experience on Air to ground Missile Systems
  • Experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering and associated tools
  • Experience working directly with customers
  • Active and transferrable US Government issued security clearance is required prior to start date.
  • U.S. citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
  • Ability for program access

Nice To Haves

  • Experience managing and presenting technical data to Stakeholders and Customer community, in design reviews and technical interchange meetings.
  • Technical leadership with capture/pursuit experience, including contribution or authoring of white papers, RFI responses, proposal of technical volumes, or related experience
  • Test Systems design experience and collaborating across multiple engineering disciplines, such as electrical, electronics, mechanical, software, and computer engineering.
  • Active Top Secret Clearance
  • Good communication skills
  • Self-starter and can work alone if needed
  • Experience working Engineering and Manufacturing Development, Transition to Production and/or Production programs
  • Prior experience being the Technical Point of Contact with the customer
  • Prior Lead Engineer/LSE/IPT/PM or equivalent experience
  • Prior test experience
  • Previous CDRL delivery experience

Responsibilities

  • Perform integration, verification, and testing to ensure the system under test performs according to design, specs and/or requirements
  • Perform data collection activities, including review and assessment of data elements, and provide detailed reports of results
  • Trace and/or correct faults in mechanical or electronic systems.
  • Create/modify documentation in support of reviews associated with formal testing, which include Test Readiness Review (TRR), Consent to Ship (CTS), and Test Data Review (TDR) packages
  • Support field testing
  • Communicate weekly with customer counterparts to status and coordinate missile builds and test events
  • Coordinate across engineering functions to support missile builds, test support and data analysis.
