About The Position

DRS RADA Technologies, a subsidiary of Leonardo DRS, is focused on proprietary radar solutions and legacy avionics systems supporting the defense industry globally. The company is a global pioneer of AESA tactical radars for active military protection, counter-drone applications, critical infrastructure protection, and border surveillance. Job SummaryThe Radar Systems Engineer will be responsible for the deﬁnition of radar system architectures, the development of concepts of operations for the radar system, the design of radar processing algorithms, and the development and decomposition of system, hardware and software requirements, and support integration of radars into counter-defensive systems. Opportunities also exist to perform statistical analysis of the radar system performance using real and/or simulated data. Work is performed in a dynamic and collaborative development environment in support of multiple research and development eﬀorts, working with internal and external customers across related programs.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related technical field with a minimum of 8 years of experience related to Systems/Software Engineering requirements, architecture, design, development, and implementation
DoD Secret level clearance or ability to obtain a clearance
Domain and technology knowledge. Ability to develop technical solutions to complex problems
Experience in leading the development of systems engineering artifacts such as System/Subsystem Requirements Documents (SRD), Architecture Diagrams, Requirements Traceability Matrix (RTM), and Test and Evaluation Master Plan (TEMP).
Ability to interact with customers to deﬁne requirements, solutions, trades, costs, implementation, system impacts, and eﬀectiveness.
Experience working with MATLAB, DOORS, Cameo System Modeler
U.S. Citizenship required.
This position may require an active DOD security clearance or the ability to obtain such clearance within a reasonable time after commencement of employment.

Nice To Haves

Prior systems engineering experience on US DoD projects utilizing Model Based System Engineering (MBSE)
Familiar in architecture, hardware, software, and system integration of AESA radars
Experience with radar system concepts; signal processing, detection, tracking and discrimination algorithms, their performance evaluation, and their implementation in software and firmware (FPGA).
Knowledge of Electronic Warfare/Electronic Attack/Electronic Protection techniques
Experience with image/video object detection and tracking
Experience with sensor data fusion
Experience with target classification, recognition and identification
Experience with the development and coding of models, algorithms, test vectors and analysis tools in support of analyzing radar system requirements and performance
Ability to create and deliver informational and technical brieﬁngs. Technical writing experience in generating technical documents in support of program and proposal documentation, to include CONOPS, Test Plans, etc.
Experience with using Jira as a task management and issue tracking tool
Experience with Agile and DevOps

Provide budget, cost and schedule input for design assignments
Responsible for driving technology and completion of activity on time and budget
Design, develop, analyze, document and support testing of products, systems or subsystems
Ability to complete a technical project independently
Document component and subsystem specifications and material requirements
Communicate clearly (written and oral) with manufacturing, supply chain, program management and the customer as required
Provide technical expertise and assistance to other engineers and support personnel
