The Systems Engineering Team is responsible for defining customer needs, functional and product architecture, requirements definition and decomposition, Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), system performance, and System Security Engineering (SSE). The Land and Air Defense Systems (LADS) department leads all aspects of Systems Engineering that drive a portfolio of sensors, command and control systems, and effectors designed to detect and defeat complex threats across the battlespace, all from our McKinney, TX location. Land and Air Defense Systems (LADS) department Systems Engineers solve technical challenges at the System of System (SoS), System, Subsystem, and Component levels. Key technical domains include Architecture, Requirements, Interface Definition, Radar Systems, Effector Systems, Battle Management, Command and Control, Communications, Network Design, and Battlespace Integration and Interoperability for Domestic and International customers.

Requirements

  • Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of eight (8) years of prior relevant experience
  • Experience with radar systems, subsystems in Air & Missile Defense Systems or other systems engineering experience

Nice To Haves

  • Advanced degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Systems Engineering.
  • Detailed Knowledge of radar systems and subsystem hardware.
  • Experience with Line Replaceable Unit (LRU), module and circuit card assembly integration and troubleshooting
  • Experience with production tracking systems with a preference of Common Manufacturing Execution System (CMES) experience
  • Strong collaboration skills
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills

Responsibilities

  • This individual will be responsible for providing analysis, developing requirements, supporting architecture development and integration activities at numerous levels of radar systems, subsystems and components.
  • You will be called upon to support various aspects of our systems including development, production, on and off-site test support and sustainment.
  • Collaborate with other engineering functions, non-engineering functions such as operations and supply chain, leadership and occasionally interface with customers and engineers from outside of Raytheon.
  • You will travel up to 20% in support of integration and test activities, off site customer meetings and other engineering support activities.
