The Processing, Guidance and Controls (PG&C) Center within the Systems Engineering and Test Capabilities Directorate consists of Guidance, Navigation, and Control; Signal Processing; and Modeling and Simulation disciplines for Effectors. The PG&C Center is hiring a Principal Systems Engineer; Modeling, Simulation, and Analysis - Technical Lead to provide simulated environments for testing missile effectors through 6DOF modeling, scene modeling, and hardware modeling while testing software in simulation capabilities. As the Principal Systems Engineer; Modeling, Simulation, and Analysis - Technical Lead you will lead a multi-disciplinary team of PG&C and Software (SW) Engineers to deliver software, simulation, and test analysis to the customer. This position is an onsite role based in Tucson, AZ.

Requirements

  • Typically requires a Bachelor’s in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience
  • Experience on a missile program
  • Experience designing, developing, and validating Simulations to Government standards
  • Experience with high level order languages and other languages such as C, C++, and Python in a Linux environment
  • Experience with design and analysis for 6DOF simulations
  • Experience leading others in technical and/or functional capacities within an engineering environment
  • Experience with Design of Experiments and High Processor Computing resources
  • Experience with software design requirements through Formal Qualification Testing (FQT)
  • Current and active U.S. government issued Secret Security Clearance is required with the ability to obtain program access after start.

Nice To Haves

  • An Advanced Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical and Computer Engineering, Optical Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, or Mathematics
  • Experience using MATLAB and/or Python for evaluation and analysis of data sets
  • Experience using HPC Management tools such as SLURM

Responsibilities

  • You will act as a recognized Modeling, Simulation and Analysis subject matter expert responsible for the budget, schedule, development, execution, and completion of complex program objectives.
  • You will develop and use credible simulation models to estimate system and sub-system level performance for a myriad of systems and provide pre and post flight test predictions.
  • You will participate in production, engineering, and field-test environments to test, verify, and validate requirements for system performance requirements
  • You will collaborate in all development phases from proposals to live-fire testing, making improvements to processes and providing signal processing expertise for BOEs, design reviews, peer reviews, and technical briefings to internal and external customers.
  • You will lead, or be able to lead, a technical team, mentor engineers, and/or manage an engineering project.
