About The Position

BAE Systems, Precision Guidance and Sensing Solutions (PGSS) Product Line within the Precision Strike (PS) Business Area has an immediate opening for a Systems Engineering, Integration and Test Lead for the Advanced Precision Kill Weapon System program. This position will require the candidate to work as part of a cross-functional, multi-disciplinary team to design, integrate, debug and test precision guided munitions. Individual technical contributions on a related range of programs will include system development, requirements development, integration & test, and test planning and execution in a field deployment environment. In this Role you will: Lead a medium size team of Systems Engineers on an APKWS development program Manage all system engineering content and work products Implement the product development process Manage Cost and Schedule responsibilities for the systems team Execute systems planning and requirements development Create and review systems requirements to include, software, component, subsystem and operational concepts Allocate requirements to other engineering disciplines Create system test plans, procedures and reports Provide oversight to product design, development, integration, and verification Develop and maintain external relationships with customers, other contractors and government officials Manage and participate in trade studies, peer reviews, and customer meetings Prepare and deliver technical presentations both internally and externally with customers Monitor and report metrics such as System Technical Performance Measures Support proposal development activities, including proposal text development, cost and schedule estimating, and presentation activities

Requirements

  • BS degree in a STEM field in addition to 6+ Years of relevant industry or equivalent
  • Possess an Active US Government security clearance (secret or higher)
  • Leadership skills and experience directing and mentoring engineers on complex programs
  • Experience in effectively documenting, communicating, leading and working with a team on designs, results, reports, and presentations.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Understanding and background in defense systems architecture, modeling, design and test
  • Ability to communicate effectively with senior leadership and other engineering disciplines
  • Experience in MATLAB

Nice To Haves

  • EVMS certification and CAM experience
  • Experience performing systems engineering activities across the development cycle (analysis/decomposition/derivation/allocation of requirements, system modeling & simulation, system design & development, system integration & test)
  • Experience developing viable concept solutions, identifying and tracking technical risks, and leading technical teams
  • Support trade studies, presentations, proposals and related activities
  • Experience in planning and conducting test events at US Government Test Facilities
  • Model Based Systems Engineering experience
