Raytheon is seeking an innovative and talented Principal Systems Engineer with strong leadership skills and a demonstrated history of identifying and problem solving to join our Activity Based Operations (ABO) team. The candidate must have the ability to be a technically minded problem-solver, be able to focus on the task at hand. Location: Aurora, Colorado

Requirements

  • Typically requires a Bachelor’s in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM preferred) and a minimum of 8 years of prior engineering experience or equivalent experience.
  • Experience problem-solving abilities to identify potential issues, conduct thorough analysis, and drive resolution with minimal direction.
  • Experience in presentations and establishing and maintaining relationships with customers and other functional organizations.
  • Experience in program domain knowledge.
  • Experience with signals analysis, including processing, interpreting, and analyzing complex data sets (e.g., RF, sensor, waveform, or time-series data)
  • An active and transferable TS/SCI CI Poly U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for the required security clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze mission system performance data to provide operational insight, enabling informed prioritization of activities and mission support efforts.
  • Coordinate operational rhythm and execution across multiple technical workstreams to maintain alignment with program objectives and mission priorities.
  • Support prioritization of work and resource allocation based on operational demand, mission impact, and evolving customer needs.
  • Collaborate across engineering, program, and mission teams to ensure effective cross-functional coordination and timely resolution of complex system performance challenges.
  • Develop and maintain visibility into operational metrics, throughput, and performance indicators to support leadership awareness and data-driven decision making.
  • Provide clear operational briefings and status updates to customers and senior leadership regarding mission activities, performance trends, and operational risks
  • Identify opportunities to improve workflows, operational processes, and coordination mechanisms to increase efficiency and mission effectiveness.
  • Manage operational tempo by tracking activities, dependencies, and priorities across teams to ensure consistent execution and delivery of mission outcomes.
