This role involves providing IT systems administration in a heterogeneous Microsoft Windows and RedHat Enterprise Linux environment. The position requires experience with troubleshooting techniques to resolve technical problems of moderate to high scope and complexity, including the integration of hardware and operating systems. The administrator will execute actions as directed by senior staff and project management, engage in cross-team collaboration, and align with leadership expectations. Key tasks include designing, developing, and deploying containers, participating in all phases of Engineering software installation and support with an emphasis on testing, documentation, and acceptance. The role also encompasses managing ESXi, VCenter, and Microsoft Windows domains, utilizing knowledge of Windows Server internals or Linux fundamentals (DNS, DHCP, AD, server replication methods), and experience with hardware RAID, hardware/software encryption, and server management tools. Performing data backup and restore using industry best practices, installing and configuring software applications for end users, and collaborating with Cybersecurity professionals to maintain security requirements are also essential functions. Systems are operational 24x7 and may occasionally require work effort beyond standard hours, with up to 10% travel to other US Domestic locations.

Requirements

Typically requires a University degree or equivalent experience and a minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years experience.
Active and transferable U.S. government issued Top Secret security clearance is required prior to start date.
U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
Experience with Windows and/or Linux.
Must be able to obtain Department of Defense Directive (DoDD) 8140 / 8570 Certification requirements (CompTIA Security+ CE or equivalent certification) within 6 months of start date.

Nice To Haves

Experience Deploying Windows workstations and migrating end-user data.
Experience with cloning techniques.
Use and guide use of automation tools e.g. Ansible.
Experience with operating system concepts and implementations.
Microsoft Windows Active Directory Services administration and support (e.g. user and computer objects administration, Group Policy).
Experience with network services related to Microsoft Windows environment (e.g. DC, DNS, DHCP, etc.).
Experience with supporting desktop / workstation hardware.
Experience with an IT incident/service request system.

Responsibilities
