This role involves providing IT systems administration in a heterogeneous Redhat Enterprise Linux, Microsoft Windows and VMWare environment, performing daily checks in multiple data centers, and working as a team member in a fast-paced technological environment. The position requires understanding and knowledge of Windows Server internals and Linux fundamentals, troubleshooting technical problems, managing data backups, installing software, and maintaining security requirements in collaboration with Cybersecurity professionals. Documentation and training on advanced IT processes are also part of the role. Requirements

Typically requires a University degree or equivalent experience and a minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years experience
Active and transferable U.S. government issued Secret security clearance is required prior to start date
U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
Must have experience with Active Directory, VMware, Administration, backup and recovery
Must have experience with performing functional system checks
Understanding and knowledge of Windows Server internals and Linux fundamentals to include DNS, DHCP, AD, and server replication methods
Experience data backup uses and technologies
Must be able to obtain Department of Defense Directive (DoDD) 8140 / 8570 Certification requirements (CompTIA Security+ CE or equivalent certification) within 6 months of start date

Experience with NISPOM, JAFAN, JSIG, DFARS and/or DoD/RMF

Experience using VMWare vCenter, vSphere, and ESX and/or other virtual computing methods
Experience supporting engineers in software, simulations, and hardware development
Experience with Microsoft WSUS, MECM, and/or Exchange
High Performance Computing (HPC) experience in a Linux environment
Scripting Experience

Responsibilities

Provide IT systems administration in a heterogeneous Redhat Enterprise Linux, Microsoft Windows and VMWare environment
Provide daily checks in multiple data centers
Use troubleshooting techniques to resolve technical problems of moderate to high scope and complexity to include the integration of hardware operating systems (OS) and program specific software
Install and help configure software applications requested by end users
Work with Cybersecurity professionals to maintain security requirements
Provide documentation and training on advanced IT processes and procedures and other tasks as assigned
