About The Position

We are seeking a Principal Strategic Translator to serve as the critical linkage between executive business strategy and the technical execution performed by our Data Science and Analytics Center of Excellence (CoE). This high-impact Individual Contributor (IC) role requires exceptional communication and strategic planning skills, coupled with deep technical fluency to successfully scope, translate, and drive the delivery of high-value analytical products.

Requirements

  • Experience: Proven experience (typically 7+ years) working at the intersection of business strategy and advanced analytics/data science.
  • Strategic & Communication Skills: Exceptional ability to distill complex analytical concepts into simple, actionable strategies and communicate effectively across all organizational levels (executive, business unit, technical).
  • Technical Competence: Strong, hands-on understanding of the analytical technology stack, including: Python: Understanding of common libraries and model building workflows. Databricks: Familiarity with cloud data warehousing/processing environments. Power BI (or similar): Experience defining requirements for executive-level data visualization.

Responsibilities

  • Strategic Road-mapping: Consult directly with senior business leaders and stakeholders to define complex business challenges, identify strategic analytical opportunities (e.g., acquisition, cross-sell, retention), and develop the prioritized analytical roadmap.
  • Business Requirement Definition: Translate ambiguous, high-level business objectives and problems into clear, structured analytical hypotheses and detailed technical requirements for the COE.
  • Impact Maximization: Drive the strategy and consumption plan for analytical insights, ensuring that models and dashboards are properly utilized to improve value, segmentation, and leverage key business decisions.
  • External Partnership Review: Review and articulate opportunities for strategic partnerships with third-party data or analytics providers to synergize with and augment the internal team's capabilities.
  • Technical Liaison: Serve as the primary communication bridge between executive stakeholders and the technical team (CoE). Manage expectations, clarify technical feasibility, and ensure solutions are fit-for-purpose.
  • Design Oversight: Maintain technical competence in modern analytical tools (e.g., Python, Databricks, Power BI) sufficient to validate the CoE's approach, evaluate architectural proposals, and challenge technical trade-offs.
  • Deliverable Scoping: Define the specific output required from the CoE—whether a predictive model built in Python/Databricks or an executive dashboard built in Power BI—and ensure the final deliverable meets the strategic business need.
  • Risk Management: Partner with the CoE to proactively identify and mitigate project risks related to data quality, model complexity, and deployment timelines.
  • Executive Communication: Lead high-quality presentations to engage and influence a wide range of partners, from senior leadership to technology teams, simplifying complex technical methodologies and results into clear, actionable business narratives.
  • Organizational Influence: Drive adoption of data-driven decision-making across the organization, advocating for best practices in model consumption and insights application.
